How to Use This Date Calculator
Our date calculator has two functions. First, enter any two dates to find the exact number of days, weeks, months, and years between them. Second, enter a start date and add or subtract any number of days to find a future or past date. Both functions work instantly and account for leap years automatically.

How Leap Years Affect Date Calculations
A leap year occurs every 4 years (with exceptions for century years not divisible by 400). Leap years add an extra day — February 29 — making the year 366 days instead of 365. Our calculator automatically accounts for leap years so every date calculation is precisely accurate, even when calculating across multiple leap years.
| Upcoming Leap Years | Days in Year |
|---|---|
| 2028 | 366 days |
| 2032 | 366 days |
| 2036 | 366 days |
| 2040 | 366 days |

Frequently Asked Questions
Subtract the earlier date from the later date, counting every calendar day in between including the end date if needed. Our calculator does this instantly and accurately, accounting for months with different numbers of days and leap years. Manual calculation: convert both dates to a day count from a fixed reference point (like January 1, 1900), then subtract.
90 days from May 17, 2026 is August 15, 2026. Use our calculator above to find exactly what date falls any number of days from today or any other starting date. This is particularly useful for legal deadlines, business contracts, and trial period expirations that specify a number of days rather than a calendar date.
January (31), February (28 or 29 in leap year), March (31), April (30), May (31), June (30), July (31), August (31), September (30), October (31), November (30), December (31). A useful memory aid: knuckle months (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Aug, Oct, Dec) have 31 days; valley months have 30 days (or 28/29 for February).
Our standard date calculator counts all calendar days. For business-day calculations (excluding weekends and holidays), you would need to manually subtract the number of weekends and public holidays within your date range, or use a dedicated business day calculator. Many legal and financial deadlines specify “business days” — always clarify which type applies to your situation.
Divide the total number of days between the two dates by 7. Our calculator shows the result in days, weeks, months, and years simultaneously so you don’t need to do the conversion manually. For example, 100 days = 14 weeks and 2 days. 365 days = 52 weeks and 1 day (52 weeks and 2 days in a leap year).
